mask curve lost by changing colour space
I had a mask curve and brightness curves created in HSB. Mask was Hue. Moving to Lab space and back lost the mask but kept the B curve. I was rather hoping to be able to use the mask I'd created in HSB (using the caterpillar in H for guidance) then move to Lab to do the colour adjustments. (Its was red bark of a tree I was wanting to adjust, while leaving sky and leaves alone)
I tried the workaround - right click in the mask curve and select copy. Option to copy only this curve was greyed out so copied all curves. Switched to Lab and pasted. Was put back into HSB with a very odd setup: in the curves it looked like: B curve a dotted straight line, all other curves including mask are straight line. Yet the image definitely looks masked!

Oops - it looks like the mask curve doesn't copy. Another one for the bug list. It sounds like Copy all Curves has problems too. On the list, and hopefully addressed in the next release.
I'm not at a PS enabled machine at the moment, so I can't check this, but a few days back I had a mask that I wanted to save as a PS channel. I seem to recall trying an option to save mask to clipboard, exiting CM3 and then trying to paste to a new PS channel didn't work. I don't remember why.
Assuming I didn't dream this functionality, could you do a quick check while you're poking around chasing Roy's problem?
Hi Derek,
Yes, it's true that masks don't copy to the clipboard, and the menu command is disabled if the mask channel is selected. I can see where copying the mask would handy, to bring a mask back to Photoshop for cleaning up, saving as an alpha channel, followed by a second pass for more processing.
I'll take another look at this, time permitting. This feature is probably going to have to wait until after the initial release.
