i love caterpillars

just working on an autumn shot - mainly a tree with nice green stuff on the bark, and autumn leaves on the ground.  Wanted to warm up the browns of the leaves without having much effect on the greens on the bark of the tree.  The caterpillars gave me a really quick and easy picture (in RGB) of what would affect what - so it was easy to come up with a delightful curve.  Thankyou!

Great!  I think they have a lot more information than the old "bouncing ball".  I am still surprised that a single 5x5 sample occupies so much length on a curve.

I completely agree. The point of the worm and double pinning its ends finally dawned on me last night, and since the tweak to the user interface of the rotation behaviour, it's suddenly right up there with the best features of CM3.

Since steepening a curve to improve contrast/colour in a certain area of the image is quite an easy concept to grasp, and since this new feature does it so smoothly, I think getting a tutorial on the wiki for newbies to use would be very useful. Sounds like Roy already has a good image to get started with. :)
