Help with detail/texture?

Postby Tildy » Tue Mar 20, 2018 1:21 am

These are phone photos, so the quality of the originals isn't that good. I think they could be pretty interesting if I could get the texture/detail/colour right -- but I don't think I have yet. Basically I want to bring out the details without making them too dark, while setting them off from the background. The third one was especially difficult as the detail is pretty eroded in places.

Suggestions from anyone who has played around with either textures or detail enhancement would be much appreciated!

Hi
Do you have the NIK collection. If so try using silver effex - choose high structure smooth - save.
Now make that layer mode luminosity and play with opacity and layer masks.
I use this regularly

I love this technique. It’s great for dull sky’s too
