The screen I access asks for username and email address (which aren't accepted because in use), no blank for password (?)

When I try to register by entering my user name and email address I get a message: "Sorry, that email address is already used". I had to create a new username because I got a similar message about my username already being used.<br /><br />(Hmm, if I can't manage to register how am I ever going...
