I went back and did the example again...this time using the pipe as the neutral point. Totally different color than my first attempt.

Very nice, I didn't even notice the pipe when I did mine. I'd better go look at it again.

I didn't save the curves on these. Do you want them? On the bubbles I used the wizard.

I forgot to add comments. I think the Lab shows more detail than the RGB. And the colors are richer. I added more color in the Lab mode.

I watched the thresholding video and it was very helpful. I've redone Ellis Island but I think it should still be brighter. Are these any better? I did not use the wizard.

OK, Here's two Ellis Island. One RGB the other Lab. Neither is very good.
