I'm almost embarrassed to post this. I did make the selections and the mask. I thought everything looked good. BUT ....like you say there is alway a but.. There is a halo along the tops of the trees. I tried everything to get rid of that...couldn't do it. blurred a bit but it's still ...

I worked on this a while last night and started over this morning. I had pretty good results EXCEPT the purple fringe on the branch at the top left and leaves. I got the magenta/blue out but then the curtains were pretty faded. I'm satified that I know how to do this photo and am going to move ...

I did so much to this I can't tell you what. I did small things in CM, applied, went back to CM and applied maybe 10 times. I don't know if everything I did was correct but I think the photo looks much better.
